   Actually I think the Sen. Hutchison has a pretty bright future ahead of her, she’s a frontrunner for the VP slot on the GOP ticket in 2008 and if not that she may run for Governor of Texas in 2010. Still like you say many GOP Senators and Congressmen have been retiring and given that as well as the political landscape suggests a good year for Congressional Democrats, likely expanding their majorities in both Houses. But the GOP doesn’t have to worry about Sen. Hutchison’s seat for a while and even then it may not be an issue because Texas has trended heavily Republican in recent years.

   I think many Republicans are starting to see the writing on the walls, but that is the price they must pay for supporting Bush and his failed policies.
