Is anyone aware of McCain’s troubling association with …?

Phil Graham.

This Republican from Texas actually wrote the bill that repealed the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933, which had prohibited rampant speculation on the stark market that had caused the original Great Depression.

Roger Levy (a lobbyist of Citygroup) worked with Graham in writing this Act that was signed in 1999. Citigroup paid over 200 million dollars in "contributions" in 1998.

McCain recently distanced himself from fmr. Senator Graham during this election year after Graham’s controversial comments regarding the US economy and how the nation is full of a bunch of whiners.

Is anyone actually aware that Phil Graham acted as McCain’s advisor up until this summer? Why is this not being widely reported by the main stream media?

I wonder what Obama might say when McCain brings up Ayers "the evil unrepentant terrorist" during Wednesday’s debate.

Yes. I have known about Phil Gramm a loooong time because I have lived in Texas twenty-five years. We are all paying for extreme Republican values now. But they have been wanting to get back to this kind of playing field since the crash of the 1920′s. For eighty years they have said it was never their fault. I think we just saw a warning of believing that and taking deregulation too far….As well Gramms remark about it all in our heads enraged people even in Texas.

  2. because after time, the advisee begins to learn things for himself. mccain saw that graham was not the best person to get advice from so he distanced himself.

  3. I was going to mention ACORN as well, but somebody already beat me to it. I think ACORN is a worse association than some controversial senator. For those who are not aware, ACORN is actively involved with voter fraud. They solicit people on the streets and pay them to get involved in fraudulent voter registration. Obama is known to "donate" hefty amounts of money to ACORN.

  5. I’m aware. Conservatives don’t realize how dangerous McCain’s administration will be. Phil Gramm is the king of deregulation (caused enron and had a huge hand in the current financial crisis) and will be the Secretary of Treasury. It’s frustrating how under-informed a lot of voters are. If we could toss out the US vs. THEM attitude Obama would win by a landslide. What can you do?
