How many of you are considering moving to a state negating Obamacare?

I think there are a number of states, including Texas, that are putting legislation in place to keep its citizens from being bound by Obamacare. How many of you are planning the move?

Already in one.

To those who say federal law trumps state, keep in mind that the trumping would come down to the Supreme Court’s rule. The State isn’t going to budge, and it’s going to say "No IRS, you can’t have our citizen’s money". The Supreme Court could rule any mandate unconstitutional, destroying it. I think they would too, it’s ridiculous, the idea that the government can mandate that citizens purchase a service that for most is unaffordable.

Federal law does trump state law, but conflicts are resolved by courts, courts that could find the trumping law unconstitutional. If it isn’t obvious to anyone: these laws against the health care reform are designed to challenge the constitutionality of it.

    Alright!
    Yes!
    Go suck Texas dry! (drier).

You can help them rewrite their history books! Not only is Texas changing school history books to give them a more "Conservative" slant, they also plan to make the following additional changes:

    - Each child is given one (1) gun of his/her choice at birth
    - Art and theater is fer wussies, and will no longer be publically tolerated (except within the Austin city limits).
    - You git pregnant, you KEEP it, but then yer on yer own (we will NOT help you in any way once it’s born)
    - All Texas State Parks and county parks are to be sold to Waste Management, and begin immediately collecting trash from around the country and the world (Texas will collect a tippage fee).

Here are SOME of the changes the Texas Board of Ed. is proposing to Texas State Skool Textbooks:
    - Since no one has ever actually seen someone "evolve", no mention may be made about "it".
    - The earth is now known to be 4,237 years old.
    - Jerry Falwell co-wrote the US Constitution.
    - Texas won the Battle of the Alamo.
    - America is the ONLY non-"socialist" country in the world.
    - No black or hispanic has EVER done ANYTHING important.

No point in moving. Any law passed (if any ever are) to at effect would be unconstitutional.

Feds trump states. It’s a non issue. Want Medicare? Medicaid. Then you have to play ball and ALL the states will.

There are exactly 36-37 trying to pass similar legislation. But a federal law overides a state law. Though if its taken to the courts and deemed unconstitutional it can be thrown out.

Moving to Texas is a bit drastic under the best of circumstances.

Federal Law takes precedent to State Law. It’s the same principle to CA trying to legalizing Marijuana, it’s still a Federal Crime. (though the Fed’s capacity to enforce the law in CA is slim).

As to the notion that it will be found unconsitutional, don’t bet on it. If you look over the last 70 years of Supreme Court precedent, they have broadened Congresses power to tax, influence & regulate the lives of all Americans.

To be perfectly honest, "State" rights died right about the time of the civil war & Lincoln trampling right over them.

    No point .
The entire process attempting to pass this Bill is unconstitutional. The Bill is unconstitutional.
It will suffer from so many challenges that no one will ever have to suffer from its passage.
You WILL however have to PAY a lot to support the Obama legal fees while you pay to challenge that illegitimate pile of slime.
That is just another way the Obama Administration can run up the debt and kill america.
