Democrats, Republicans, What you do think of congressman Ron Paul?

He is a congressman from Texas and ran for presidency as a republican,
(he was constantly under attack during primary from Romney and others!)
He is a true conservative and a big advocate of US constitution and non-intervention policy,
He’s also an expert on economy and kind of predicted this financial mess long before,
Would you vote for him in 2012 and why?
All answers welcome,

I hope they run every clip of him being on all the different financial programs, he has been on target for over ten years. I just noticed Sen. Kerry saying that they shouldn’t give the bailout money just to give the stock holders something. Paul on the other hand stated we have to stop the money press and the government will have the preferred stock vs the shareholders with common and that if we don’t get it together the buck will be worth less than a quarter.

That’s a simple form, but he has pegged it all way ahead of schedule in time to ward it off, like the housing bubble, how could those idiots let this happen. Granted the new sec. treasury got lack in his former duties, but the whole oversite committees and a former president and probably present sat on their hands. Like the monkey see no evil, hear no evil…

Too bad their will be no one held accountable. Most people that don’t like Paul are like people who fear something they don’t understand and I historically correct statement and the other would snicker or make a stupid remark. Only showing that they really didn’t understand what was going on. Like the McCain and Hitler vs Saddam deal. We should not have to be the police of the world, but have you noticed that we are involved in just about everything that’s major I can only think the CFR folks do this and guess what Paul is not one. morgan stanley caused the oil to go to $140 by manipulation, becuase Exxon got Bill to remove the regulation that woud have stopped what they did. I mean you would think these Congresspeople woud look long term on stuff. look at how hard that made it on the people.

Too bad he is not a crook as he would be a shoe in for either "party". Ha, ha just kidding Have a great 2009.

Ron Paul is the ideal man for the job of president, he knows the constitution very well and never would dare cross it. He also has radical ideas of how the country should be ran but they have a very nice ring to them. He is the change that we really need not more of the same Obama is bringing to this country.

I kind of like the guy. I have been impressed with him. The trouble is I don’t think he has a chance of ever getting elected President.

Well said, Turd. I would have voted for Ron Paul for President. Alas, it’s only the republicrats and demopublicans that get elected these days.

Ron Paul is a great man, an old time Libertarian turned Republican. He is a TRUE conservative, not one of these religious zealot right wing fanatic type conservatives. There are some things I don’t agree with him on, but hey, ya can’t please everyone with everything.

I’ll tell ya something, if he was in charge right now, we WOULD have hope…and change. We would get Washington and our country’s finances back on track. It’s really sad that he didn’t get more attention while he was still running. People only realized what a great candidate he is after he bowed out of the race.

G, do you even know who Ron Paul is? Where the heck do you get your information? He is VERY pro-life…and a Christian. Since he is a strict Constitutionalist, he believes that people have a right to be an Atheist, since we have freedom of religion in this country. And I believe he is for the gay marriage thing being a state issue, like most reasonable people. I’ve really never ventured into researching that since that isn’t something that is on the top of my list.

I’m a democrat but I do like Ron Paul. If I had to vote republican due to bad candidate choices, he would have my vote. We’ll see what Obama does, but if he can’t get us on track for recovery I hope Ron Paul runs again.

I usually vote democrat – voted for Obama in the pres election, but, I voted for Ron Paul in the primary and would have supported him all the way to the White House. My only problem with Ron Paul is he is WAY more conservative than I like. He appeals to me because I like his common sense. I agree with a lot of his Manifesto, not all (very boring to read).

Nonsense. He has never formally studied economics nor had a single article published in a peer reviewed publication.
Paul advocates a 19th century style laissez faire economics. You want to see the result of the economics of Dickensian England – have a look at Dickensian England.
He has been predicting recessions for years. Predicting a recession is like predicting rain. Our economy is cyclical – eventually it will happen.
The problem is what Paul predicted has NO similarity to what is actually happening.
Paul predicted a massive international devaluation of the dollar that would trigger a supply side collapse similar to what we saw in the 70s, leaving us with high inflation and stagnant growth.
What has actually happened is a demand side slow down resulting in deflationary pressure.

Zenmeister – I mean exactly what I said – he has not studied economics to a bachelor level let alone a PHD at any formal institute of higher learning.
It is interesting to see you go after Keynsians again. Why the specific problem there? It is not as Friedman Monetarists agree with Paul on much either.
As for predicting this – you continually refuse to acknowledge that what Paul predicted is not happening. Like the Great Depression we are currently facing a severe deflationary pressure. Paul predicted a supply side collapse caused by inflationary increases in the money supply.

He is a strict Constitutionalist and has the integrity and knowledge to hit our economic problems head on and put us on the right track.

I wrote him in last year, and I absolutely would vote for and campaign for him in 2012.
