The Republican party was originally called the Democratic Republican Party. Why did they drop the Democratic part, do they all want us to just fallow the father figure that thinks he knows best. And when I say "he" I mean just that. Is that why Confedercans call the US just a republic because in a true republic there is a father figure that knows best that people must reply on.

You mean why did the Democrats drop the Republican part of their name? It was the other way around. Republicans are the decedents of Whigs which are the decedents of Federalists. During the time of Federalists, Democratic-Republicans were called Republicans for short.
