President Obama is outraged that AIG is paying out bonuses, why is it that no one from the republican party is speaking out against AIG?
isn’t this contractual obligation just like a union contract that most business is opposed to? Oh wait only the top management is allowed to have a contract, screw the rest of the grunts!

You do realize the “bonuses” are contractual obligations that were signed and agreed upon before the bailout, right? It’s not like AIG just went “here, have some free money!” How would you feel if your job was obligated by contract to pay you an annual bonus, and then breached your contract by not paying you?

Because there is not a valid reason to bash the compensation system. Bonuses are, in this case, contractual obligations. That means the company had to pay or face lawsuits. The US owes about 80% of AIG. In effect, the US would end up paying any claims for punitive damages.
Don’t be a Democrat Kool Aid drinker. Find out all of the facts before going off on a rant.

They did before the Dem congress handed them the first bail out! Obama is doing the right thing, However the Democrat run Congress should have done this much earlier!
Put down your glass of Kool-Aid for just a minute and read or listen to all the news . I believe Senetor Shelby of Alabama is a Republican. There are several others. If you really knew what you were taking about , you would know that TARP had no restrictions on banks on what they could do with the money. Also this amount of bonuses is less than one tenth of one percent of the money received. Did you also know that the Government appointed the new head of AIG ? Yes this Democrat is in charge of the company. Why did he not stop the bonus checks. The say they had contract obligations to pay these bonuses. Without any Government restrictions against it, there is not much the Government can do now. Funny how when the Auto companies wanted a loan, Congress put several restrictions on them, including saleries, but with the banking industry none were placed on them. This was set up and passed by the majority party ( democrats). Maybe your question should be which Democrat is on the take with the banking industry?
