    Since every successful elected Democratic President for the last 40 years is somehow a corporatist, when was the last time that a “progressive” was even close to becoming President? FDR?

    You sit there and trash center-left Democrats, but when the time to have a “progressive” headlining the ticket, the “progressive” is sternly rejected by the electorate.

    It’s really sad that folks, like you, are out front, knee-capping the Presidency of Barack Obama.

    I’ll agree that multiple sources are important and that the wheat must then be separated from the chaff. But for the few like you and me that know their own minds and can smell a lie from afar, a smaller pool of sources is sufficient. A little pruning was in order. Take care.

    Bush became president just because he ‘defeated’ Al Gore in Florida by 500 votes. Anyone with common sense know that the Florida votes had to be recounted so that the real winner be it Bush or Gore would be confirmed but the SCOTUS decided against that. The conservative judges in SCOTUS wanted Bush to win so that when some of them retired, he would replace then with other conservatives. So Bush gave us Alito and Roberts.

    @RCinPAWA What fraud? They are just telling it like it is. Dems promised real healthcare reform. What we got was a back-room deal with Pharma, didn’t give us re-importation of drugs from Canada which would lower the cost of drugs and tossed out a public option. Wall street is giving out the biggest bonuses since 2007 yet the Dems happily handed over billions to them to loan more to small businesses which they still aren’t doing!

    There were various exit polls that found similar results: some said that 20% of Nader voters would have otherwise voted for Bush, others that 25% would have voted for Bush, etc. But the end result was the same.

    How do you know it was screwed? Do you have any evidence of this at all? Or are you just hoping I won’t call your bluff?

    It wasn’t screwed. You’re just saying that because you want to believe it.

    By the way, you completely ignored my point and changed the subject. My point was that the debates allowed Perot’s poll numbers to triple, and that they could do the same for Nader.

    Why does everyone think Perot took more votes from Bush? Where do people get this idea?

    Exit polls show that Perot took almost exactly the same amount of votes from each candidate. I’m skeptical about this, though: I would think Perot would have taken more votes from CLINTON!

    In many ways, Perot was far more liberal than Clinton. For example, he supported:

    -single-payer health care

    -strict environmental laws

    -strict gun control

    -massive tax hikes to pay off the debt
