He caucuses with the Democratic party. So does Joe Lieberman. That does not mean the vote with the Democratic party. If everyone in the Democratic party voted the same way, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.
I’m not moving away from that. I’m saying that going with the Republican is the exact opposite of what should be done. Even on healthcare, A lot of people are against it in this country. When you ask why? It turns out that a majority of the people against it says IT DOES NOT GO FAR ENOUGH.
This country wants real progressive change. And when people get disillusioned and stay home, politicians think it’s because we want to go further right, when it’s the opposite that’s true.

The DEM party is the issue and you are trying to move away from that! Honestly even with the 60 vote majority democrats will still struggle to pass anything! Obama will need to have the US tax payers pay for different states full healthcare set-up and exempt those state’s citizen from contributing like he did buying the VA votes.
I am ashamed I voted for Obama with his change campaign but its more of the same to me with less logic.
I never said that the Dem party doesn’t have its problems; primarily Kent Conrad, Ben Nelson among others. But those represent the 2 sides of the debate. The Republicans have voted no on just about anything without even offering an alternative.
Also, the Dems only have 58 seats in the Senate. Berny Sanders is a socialist, so you can call it 59. But Joe Lieberman is an independent that campaigned for the Republican pres. candidate. I wouldn’t call him a Democrat.

Hey when the democrats had a fillabuster proof vote with Ted alive they failed to pass anything!!!! Democrats have the majority in the house and did have the marjority in the Senate until Ted passed and the STILL had issues passing bills and a demo in the highest office. Why is it when the republicans don’t have majority or fillabuster proof vote since the 1980s and they could still get legislation passed? Hmmmmm

You would like to see both points of view in washington? You don’t pay attention to politics often do you. The Republican party in the senate has opposed EVERY SINGLE INITIATIVE by Democrats. They are not interested in compromise.
They even voted against an amendment that would allow women who have been gang raped by contractors working for the U.S. to take those contractors to court.
Scott Brown represents the 41st vote in the Senate, which means NOTHING will get done for 3 years.

I doubt they will retract this statement not because of their lack of ethics but because liberals want to gain power no matter what the cost. MSNBC temselves have already stated that they would CHEAT to get Coakley elected. For a news organization to make that statement and not report what the Coakley camp has done really shows what MSNBC is really all about and the length that Democrats will go to just to hold power. How sad for them.
