Is Wesley Clark the victim of the "Right Wing Freak Machine?"?

Speaking to an adoring crowd at Netroots Nation in Austin, the General said that he "was taken out of context" when, on CBS’ Face the Nation, he remarked that McCain’s time as a POW did not serve as a qualification for the White House

"There is just no other way to say it," said Clark. "Someone said to me ‘This is a playbook operation by the right wing freak machine, the great freak show where they take a statement, distort it, blast it out of context and make it personal. They are so good at it they did all three steps in three hours and you fought back and I’m grateful for you from the bottom of my heart.’"

The irony continued soon thereafter, when the McCain campaign (after insinuating that military service was not fodder for a general election) put out a campaign commercial that focused greatly on his time in Vietnam.

What do you think?
Wesley Clark is one of my heroes!!!!!

He’s not a victim. He spoke the truth and stands strong.

As long as you speak the truth for the good of the people, you’re a winner.

The rest are part of a fascist propaganda machine that is trying to turn US taxpayer wealth over to global corporations.

Clark will have no part of that. He’s a hero.

Keep speaking up and you will be too.

  2. Yes, he spoke the truth which is a no no in this Republican dominated media era.

  3. No, Clark is a victim of his own hubris.
Clark made a mess of his job in the Balkans, and Michael Moore supported him for president. The "right wing" doesn’t have to attack him. He uses phrases like the "right wing freak machine" all by himself—–oohhhhkkkaaaay

"save our farms": McCain isn’t the corporate guy. that would be Obama, Inc., who just announced yesterday that America needs an additional "security force" to keep us in line. He’s the one with the imperialist mentality—a perfect frontman. I guess Clark is hoping to lead the "veterans for truth" if the election doesn’t work the way it should, like in Kenya?

Speaking of, we don’t need to send tons of money to the UN (Obama’s friend) either, to pad the pockets of despots worldwide, thanks.

  4. Wesley Clark is the victim of the fact that he is as crappy as a politician as he was as a General. If he hadn’t been Clinton’s secretary, he’d have ended up an obscure flunky at the Pentagon.

I know 24 year old kids who’ve seen 3 times the combat that Clark has. In his one major battle in Vietnam, he had huge losses and then got a Silver Star for using his men as cannon fodder. Many of those 24 year old kids have 100′s of patrols through the streets of Iraq and have been in many more combat actions than General Clark has thought about.
