He couldn’t do it. What are Barrack Obama’s legislative accomplishments?
You’re, right, that surrogate was a moron to go on live tv unprepared.
This is what his website says:
In the Illinois State Senate, this meant working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. He also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.
In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.
As a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America’s addiction to oil, he’s working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars.

This is the loving, true story about a young woman named Amy and her adopted grandmother, Sandy, sharing what the Bible teaches about living the Christian life. This unexpected relationship bound two women from different generations on the same journey in life. One woman was three steps ahead of the other-older and wiser. The other one was younger and not as wise as she once thought. At first, Amy was simply hoping a little bit of what Sandy had would rub off on her. Over time, she realized that God had more in mind. He wanted to use Sandy to bring her closer to Him than ever before. Sandy’s commitment to the faithful transfer of a lifetime of insights from one generation to the next is an inspiration to follow. I know I was inspired to go and do likewise. Gary Brandenburg Senior Pastor, Fellowship Dallas Amy Alford has photographed some of the world’s most powerful and respected leaders, including President George Bush, Jr. and his wife Laura, as well as former President George Bush, Sr., Oprah Winfrey, Benjamin Netanyahu, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Bill Cosby. However, nothing excites her more than capturing the special moments of children and families. Her mentor, Sandy Edmonson (pictured), has taught a Bible Study at Grace Bible Church in Dallas for 45 years. Amy enjoys her involvement in door-to-door ministry in foreign countries, prison ministry, Bible Study and her involvement in Fellowship Bible Church. She and her husband, Ben, reside in Dallas, Texas with their dog, Buddy.

Ron Paul on Thursday gave front-runner Rudy Giuliani a list of foreign-policy books .
he stood behind a stack of books that included the report by the commission that examined the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001.
he also said
"I don’t think he’s qualified to be president," Paul said of Giuliani. "If he was to read the book and report back to me and say, ‘I’ve changed my mind,’ I would reconsid
Rudy is a joke!!!
I had really not been exposed to Ron Paul until recently. He gave me hope that there are still a few politicians who’re not in corporate pockets. His appearance on TV the other day made me realize that he technically should appeal to most people, eventhough he’s not a glossy, slick politician. I hope people don’t dismiss him and assume that he wont win. He’s the best of both worlds; a nice change from the stupid extremists of both parties.

The governor there is trying to force through legislation that legally requires ALL girls at age 12 to be forced to receive the vaccine(it is for Human Papilloma Virus that leads to cervical cancer). The parents are in an uproar because the government is taking away their parental rights (which I agree with). What do you think about this? Logical answers please!
Also, HPV is spread through sexual contact, which means boys get it and then spread it too. If it is going to become a standard vaccine, then shouldn’t boys also be required to receive it!?
*This is my personal opinion*
I think it’s a great idea to have all young girls get the vaccine. I was diagnosed with HPV when I was 17 years old. I had no clue what it was or what it could cause, just like many young girls. Most young girls tend to be pretty naive about sex, STDs and pregnancy.
The same year I was diagnosed with HPV I developed cervical cancer from it. My parents were absolutely crushed. I was worried (especially being the only girl in the family) that I would never be able to have children of my own. Now I have to go to my OBGYN every 4 months. I have been doing this for the last 6 years and I have been fighting this thing ever since! Not only is it annoying but it was one of the most painful things I have ever gone through. It’s an awful STD and I don’t understand why so many people are against something that could save thousands of lives!
I read that in 2006, 10,000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer. Of those 10,000 women, 4,000 of them will die from it. Why wouldn’t parents want to save their girls from ever contracting such a horrible disease?
And, they actually are doing trials on boys with the vaccine. It hasn’t been approved yet, but I’m sure it will be pretty soon.

I see the tickets are free and trying to get some before they are gone, if its not too late already. Im not finding anything on the texas senators homepage it sends me back to the site that talks about getting free tickets.
Call your Texas congressman or Senators office. They are free, if you have good contacts, or are a big contributer, but good luck, demand is high. There are scalpers who are making big bucks on them.

If Texas is such a conservative state, why is it that Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Laredo, Austin, El Paso, Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, etc.
Pretty much ALL vote Democrat?
And how is it that even with these major cities voting against them, how is it the state goes Republican in virtually every election?
I am originally from Texas and I think Texas is diverse, but the Democrats don’t come out in force, because they seem content.
I know you mean no harm, but questions like this opens the door for all the racist to chime in, before they go back to pretending they are not bigots, just look at the answers.

In the late 19 century the ideologies of the Republican and Democratic parties switched. Grover Cleveland betrayed his party? Previously The Republican Party represented a more liberal stance on social issues.e.g. Abraham Lincoln. How did this happen? Can you offer some citations?
The conservative vs liberal, anti-federalist vs. federalists, states rights vs. federal power. These ideas of what the size, scope and power of the federal government should be have existed since the foundation of America. The founders had very different ideas concerning such issues, however, they were able to lay their differences aside, compromise and give birth to our great nation. We greatly need this spirit of compromise and cooperation to return in America.
As for political parties. Over time their ideologies fluctuate depending on who their leaders are, national events and issue…….i.e…the Republican party slowly become a conservative party throughout the first half of the 20th century where it sided with big business and big banks while the Democratic party trended toward the liberal ideas of fair labor and mandating corporate regulation. The Democratic southern conservatives completed the shift following the civil rights movement of the 1960’s becoming Republicans, while those involved with the social revolution and anti-war efforts of the 60’s gravitated toward the more liberal leadership that had taken hold in the Democratic party.
